DAIRED OGLE

Owner

Entrepreneur and owner Daired Ogle introduced the public to Daireds Salon and Spa Pangea in November 2000. The 14,500 square foot facility is a big change from his previous salon and spa, but represents a continued progression in his career and continued success.

A native Texan, Daired began his career as a hairdresser in the 1960s at Stripling & Cox. He opened his first salon in 1978. Eventually, Daired’s Salon moved into a new location in 1984, which incorporated a small, formal day spa with five treatment rooms. While running his salon during the 1990s, Daired ventured out and opened a successful, seven-store video rental chain. Hoping to return full-time to his first business, Daired’s Salon, he sold the video stores in 1996 to Blockbuster, Inc.

When Daired returned to his salon, he found it no longer possessed the professional atmosphere he believed it once had. Although unpopular by many of his employees, Daired implemented mandatory drug testing, as well as an apprenticeship program he now calls the New Talent Program. “The courses we offer in our New Talent Program test our employees’ dedication to their profession and to customer service,” Daired says. “And drug testing, back then and even today, is a hot button in this industry.”

Along with Daired’s belief in the importance of providing excellent customer service, he offers his guests a peaceful and relaxing escape, as well as the opportunity to visit a hidden paradise that is ready for them to jump in, experience and explore. “We want to differentiate ourselves - we want to take treatments from all over the world to create a much broader array of services than you would usually find at a typical spa,” says Daired. Hence, the birth of Daireds Salon, Spa Pangea, Conference Centre & Café, which conceptualizes the idea of offering three different worlds in one.

Throughout his career, Daired has been honored with numerous awards for his hairdressing skills and expertise. Currently, he is a member of The Salon Association, The International Spa Association and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
